Weekends just got that bit more leisurely

Plenty of options from snacks and coffee to full mealsThere’s nothing worse than waking up on the weekend and being reminded of all the household chores you need to catch up on, when all you want to do is relax and go for a leisurely brunch. Car Spa is a well located spot in Sydney’s West that can help you out – well with one chore at least – washing the car! Just off Old Windsor Road near Norwest Business Park, Car Spa will have your car looking new again while you sit back in the cafe, relax, and enjoy a coffee and something deliciously substantial to satisfy your big breakfast cravings.

I admit I haven’t tried many car wash cafés in my time, but the
ones that I have usually only offer a warmed sausage roll and a ‘less than average’ coffee at best. So my initial expectations of the cafe weren’t exactly high.

On the Saturday morning my husband and I headed out to put my car in for some much needed TLC, we originally only planned to stay for a coffee before heading off to a cafe elsewhere. When we arrived, the Car Spa Cafe was already quite full of customers. Everyone from lone diners enjoying some ‘time out’, to families on a ‘unique outing’ seemed to have the same idea as us, and on looking over the menu, I was intrigued enough to stay and try the food while we waited. Bacon and eggs, omelettes, burgers, salads, sandwiches and more, there was quite a range of both breakfast and lunch choices for such a tiny kitchen cafe.

turkish toast with avocado and roasted vegetablesI settled on the Brekky Bruschetta of spinach, mushrooms, tomato, capsicum and balsamic glaze on turkish toast, and they happily swapped the mushrooms for avocado when I asked if this was possible. Tasty and satisfying, it was just the kind of breakfast I love in the morning – made with fresh food… and by somebody else!

Hubby tried the Eggs Benedict which you can choose to have with bacon, ham or salmon. He selected his favourite – bacon, and in my never ending quest to try and get him to eat vegetables, I was pleased to see it also included spinach.
Served traditionally with poached eggs on an English muffin and smothered in a wicked hollandaise sauce, the chef cooked the eggs just as he requested.

There’s plenty of inside and outdoor cafe seating to cater for busy periods, and whilst not everyone dines while waiting for their car to be washed, most people are on their mobile devices as the cafe offers free wifi to customers. However, if you are someone still trying to avoid the distraction of modern technology, there is an ample supply of magazines and daily newspapers to keep you
occupied old-school style.

CarSpaVegOutside2If you love watching others do your domestic drudgery while you sit back and relax, then I suggest you take your next day off, or business lunch break to enjoy a leisurely meal while someone else does all the work for you. The only thing more satisfying than a full tummy after enjoying tasty food is to have someone present you with a freshly clean, sparkling car to drive away in.
